A special image of Mary, chosen by Cardinal Leo, has been delivered to the pilgrimage churches identified for the Year of Jubilee. This image will be displayed prominently in pilgrim churches throughout the Archdiocese of Toronto during this most holy year.

In the words of His Eminence as part of his communication regarding the Consecration of the Archdiocese of Toronto to Mary, Mother of God:

“As was the wish of the crucified and dying Lord Jesus who entrusted the Beloved Disciple to Our Lady and Our Lady to the Beloved Disciple (John 19: 25-27), so we too are called by Christ to welcome his Mother as our mother and to create space for her in our spiritual home, our faith, our community, our family, our life.”

Photos below show the Chair of the Archdiocesan Year of Jubilee Committee, Fr. Tim Hanley, delivering the image of Mary to pilgrimage churches including St. Paul’s Basilica (Fr. Robert O’Brien) and St. Mary’s Parish in Toronto (Msgr. Fernando Couto).

May the image of Mary deepen our spiritual journey as pilgrims of hope during this Year of Jubilee. For more information on the Year of Jubilee in the Archdiocese of Toronto, click here.
