On June 1, 2025, Saviour of the World Parish joyfully celebrated its 30th anniversary, coinciding with the Feast of the Ascension. His Eminence Frank Cardinal Leo, Archbishop of Toronto, presided over the Thanksgiving Mass, joined by five concelebrating priests and one deacon. The Mass was attended by over 500 parishioners, filling the church with gratitude and devotion.

In his homily, Cardinal Leo reflected on the parish’s rich history, expressing heartfelt gratitude to God for blessing the community over the past three decades. He acknowledged the pioneering priests and faithful who founded the parish and recognized the current members for their continued dedication to living and sharing the faith.

The Cardinal highlighted the parish’s mission, stating, “Over these 30 years, the Word of God has nourished us, the sacraments have sanctified us, and the Holy Mass has united heaven and earth daily. The community has supported new immigrants, cared for the poor and sick, nurtured families, and remained faithful to God, the Church, and our traditions.”

He also emphasized the beauty of diverse vocations working together in unity — bishops, priests, deacons, religious, and laity — building a vibrant, faithful community while honoring the past and moving forward with faith and mission.

Following the Mass, parishioners gathered in the church basement hall for a festive celebration. The joyful event featured a lunch that included four roasted pigs and various other dishes. A photo session with Cardinal Francis Leo added to the day’s memorable moments. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, camaraderie, and gratitude as everyone celebrated this important milestone in the parish’s history.

Savior of the World Parish continues to serve as a beacon of faith, welcoming all to share in the mission of proclaiming Christ and building a strong, united community.
