In 1972, the Native People's Mission was born as a Chaplaincy when Toronto's bishops identified a growing need for the Church to respond to the increasing number of First Nations people leaving First Nations for urban residences.

Since then, the Native People's Mission has been an important faith community and home to many First Nations across the Archdiocese of Toronto.

Currently, they are located at St. Ann's Parish in Toronto's east-end.

The following story highlights the mission and the great source of support the mission has been for First Nation people.
